City of Santa Fe Honors Allan Houser with Unveiling of Plaque on Artist's Walk of Fame
The City of Santa Fe, NM will honor Allan Houser with the unveiling of a plaque on the Santa Fe Artists Walk of Fame.
The unveiling, at the corner of Lincoln Ave. and Palace Ave. will take place as part of the the city’s official holiday tree lighting planned to take place on the Santa Fe Plaza, Friday, Dec. 19 at 5 p.m.
Bob Haozous, himself an internationally known artist and son of Allan Houser, said "Our family is delighted that the city which Allan came to as a student in 1934, and which he made his home for over 40 years, is honoring his contribution."
Mrs. Anna Marie Houser, Allan's widow, who was born in New Mexico in the same year that is became a state (1912) will be at the event along with four generations of the Houser/Haozous family.
In addition a plaque will be unveiled honoring Santa Fe artist Eliot Porter. (1901–1990), an American photographer best known for his color photographs of nature.
